DISCIPLESHIP AND OUTREACH
“Are Bible study and Sunday School really that important? Isn’t going to the church worship service enough?”
Discipleship and outreach are at the heart of a healthy evangelical church. Discipleship is the lifelong process of growing in Christ; learning His Word, living in obedience, and becoming more like Him. Outreach is the natural overflow of that growth, as believers share the gospel and extend Christ’s love to others. All of these things are found within our times of discipleship and outreach here at East Hill.
Fellowship
Discipleship begins in community. While worship services are vital, they often don’t allow much time to build meaningful relationships. Sunday School provides a smaller, more personal setting where genuine fellowship can grow, creating a space where people are known, encouraged, and supported in their walk with Christ.
Ministry
True discipleship leads to action. As relationships deepen, so does care for one another, opening the door for ministry. Scripture calls believers to pray for, encourage, and serve each other, and our times of Bible study and Sunday School create an environment where these commands can be lived out in practical, meaningful ways.
Bible Study
Spiritual growth depends on understanding God’s Word. Sunday School offers a focused time for studying Scripture, helping believers not only learn biblical truth but also apply it to everyday life. This foundation is essential for both discipleship and faithful living.
Outreach
Discipleship doesn’t stop within the church, it reaches outward. Bible study and Sunday School at East Hill are great avenues to invite friends, family, and neighbors to come to know the Lord. A loving, Bible-centered group can make all the difference in helping someone feel at home and begin their own journey of faith.
